Second Stage goals of the Farm Co-op
Once we have our baseline growth for Pasture Corish Cross Chicken, Organically Grown Produce we will branch out into other more profitable areas to increase farm revenue. The following are the products that will add much needed revenue for the farm to keep prices down for all foods.
Our Introduction
Mushroom Cultivation
In the second stage of our farm’s development, we aim to introduce mushroom cultivation as another value-added product. We plan to cultivate a variety of prized mushrooms for retail, including Oyster, Shiitake, Lion’s Mane, Morel, Chanterelle, Porcini, Enoki, among others.
Our strategy involves constructing a container-based Mushroom Farm. The objective is to supply local restaurants and markets with fresh mushrooms. This segment of the farm is designed to generate an immediate source of revenue, contributing to the farm’s growth resources.
Our Introduction
Microgreen Cultivation
In the second stage of our farm’s development, we aim to introduce microgreen cultivation as another value-added product. We plan to cultivate a variety of prized microgreens for retail, including Arugula, Abundance Kale, Sunflower, Beet, Broccoli, Collard, Pea, Radish, Wheatgrass and Others

Our Introduction
Pasture Pork
The initial step in the second phase involves beginning work on our pasture-raised pork, which will be a major product of the farm. We plan to manage pork production in forested areas, seeking land to silvopasture alongside our future lamb and goat operations.
We aim to raise various breeds, including Duroc, Berkshire, and Mangalitsa. Our objective is to provide not only a steady supply of marbled, fatty meats but also to develop a line of charcuterie pork.
Our Introduction
American Bress Chicken Flocks
Our goal is to establish a flock of 300+ American Bresse Chickens, which will not only reduce our reliance on purchasing Cornish Cross birds but also offer a tastier meat option capable of reproduction in the event of a viral outbreak in densely populated poultry houses. While we aim to be self-sufficient, it’s unlikely that we’ll completely abandon Cornish Cross birds, given their optimal feed-to-weight ratio. Our Blue Legged Friend will cost more, and we will sell these to restaurants.
Our Introduction
Winery Pond Aquaculture
If you take a look at Google Earth, you’ll notice the numerous farm winery ponds scattered throughout Napa Valley. With considerable confidence, I can say there are quite a few. Our plan is to lease as many ponds as possible for aquaculture. We intend to clear these ponds and introduce fresh populations of Catfish, Bass, and Crappie, which we aim to cultivate to perfection. These fish will be nourished with Black Soldier Fly Larvae. Once mature, we will harvest the fish and produce fish emulsion from them.
We will apply for a license for aquaculture in California with CDFW. Once our license goes through with the state we will begin to harvest these fish for human consumption.
Fertilizers Provided or Created by the Farm, to be used and sold from the farm
We will utilize every scrap of waste products produced on the farm to regenerate the farm. The goal is nothing leaves the farm.
Producing Black soldier fly larvae for BSFL Frass and worms for worm castings to generate sources of both fertilizers and
natural insecticides, utilizing feathers, blood, bone. All will be cooked, dried and pulverized for sales and use on the farm.
All fertilizers will be processed on the farm with simple environmentally friendly time tested methods.
